A top 5 University for student
work placements
At Huddersfield University Business School most of our
full-time degree courses include the option of a year on
work placement. Our dedicated Business Placement Unit
will help you to secure a practical, relevant and
rewarding year in the workplace to add skills and
experience to your degree.
Here's why a 'sandwich year' is so important to your
business course:
- Placement students are more likely to achieve better academic results
- Gain experience and learn practical skills
- Achieve an edge in the job market
- Earn money relieve your overdraft!
- You could achieve a better position and higher salary more quickly upon graduation
There are even opportunities to work abroad in Europe or worldwide.
The average graduate salary for Business School
students completing a placement year is £ 22,000 against
a regional average graduate salary of £19,000. In a
graduate survey approximately 55% of Business School
students who had been on placement were in managerial
and associate professional roles. (TQEF project 2006).
In recent years our students have worked regionally and
nationally in renowned companies such as M&S, Jaguar,
Sainsbury's, KPNG, Toyota and Odeon Cinemas.
Our record and tradition in providing the opportunity for
work-based skills is what contributes to the University's
rating as one of the top 5 in the country for sandwich
courses.
Add to this our excellent success rate for graduate
employment and you have a business course focused
upon getting you into a business career.
