St George's UniversitySt. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, in Grenada, West Indies, strives for success by preparing students with an international veterinary education. Its high-quality instructional programmes and worldwide practice applications expose students to community service and clinical research early in their education.

 

International Perspective

 

  • With faculty and students that have come from more than 136 countries, St. George’s University is a diverse community embracing disparate cultural and educational backgrounds.

 

Curriculum

  • The University provides an extensive three-year preveterinary programme as a firm foundation for pursuit of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
  • Upon acceptance to the Veterinary Sciences programme, students may consider a joint degree, such as the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine/Master of Public Health (DVM/MPH) degree.
  • St. George’s students have access to the Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation, which fosters programme excellence and original research through collaborative relationships between internationally recognised scholars and regional scientists.
  • St. George’s University students complete their fourth clinical year of study at one of 28 affiliated veterinary universities in the US, the UK, Canada, the Republic of Ireland and Australia.

  • St. George’s University’s leading-edge True Blue Campus is located on the southwest corner of Grenada overlooking the breathtaking Caribbean Sea.
  • The growing campus city has recently been expanded with more than 50 new wireless-enhanced structures including a library, anatomy labs, dormitories, lecture halls and administrative facilities.

 

The University is home to over 25 student-sponsored organisations that range from science-oriented to sports to cultural interests.

 

Successful Graduates

  • St. George’s University graduates consistently perform well on licencing exams, and hundreds of graduates are currently practising round the world. A number of graduates have successfully attained membership in the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons by successfully passing the Statutory Membership Examination, including 6 of the 12 who passed the most recent exam.

  • The University has a solid cadre of full-time and part-time faculty, augmented by a strong Visiting Scholars Program of approximately 150 visiting professors each year.
